SIW Parent Page Launched


We are pleased to announce the launch of the first mulitlingual SIW parent page. The SIW parent page was produced by Ferryway teachers working on the HP Technology for Teaching grant. The page's purpose is to increase parental involvement with their children in using home computers and the Internet, i.e. with an emphasis on the SIW PBU. Our baseline survey of 97 Ferryway fifth graders indicates that 90% of students have a computer at home and 86% visit websites. We are also excited that Dr. Connolly brought a CD-ROM version of the presentation to China on her recent trip. Enjoy!

Available languages: English and Mandarin Chinese

The Spanish language version of the parent page was launched on May 9, 2006. Nancy Kassabian, Director of Foreign Languages, International Relations, and World Cultures for Malden Public Schools performed the translation and voice narration.
